Violence Response Procedures II Certification Program

Violence Response Procedures II is for those who are expected to manage physically violent behavior in emergency situations. This specialized training segment examines the risks and realities of physical interventions, and teaches participants how to implement physical restraint when necessary. Participants will:

  • Consider organizational policy and authorization in responding to workplace violence.
  • Discuss rights and responsibilities of taking action to protect oneself and others from physical harm.
  • Develop skills in utilizing physical intervention techniques by applying physiological and psychological principles to maximize safety and minimize risks.
  • Develop team intervention strategies and techniques.
  • Understand the significance of documentation procedures and proper incident recording.
  • Complete competency-based testing for physical intervention.
  • Become certified to train staff in Violence Response Procedures II.
